About jewellery CAD CAM jobs in Mumbai
CAD CAM is the production end of jewellery design. Once a CAD designer finishes a model, the CAM team turns it into something that can be cast: printed resin or wax patterns, or milled models. Mumbai export manufacturers in SEEPZ and Andheri run CAM rooms with several printers working through the night.
What the work involves
- Checking incoming CAD files for wall thickness, shrinkage allowance and printability.
- Adding supports, orienting and nesting parts, and scheduling print runs.
- Operating, cleaning and calibrating printers and mills.
- Inspecting printed patterns and passing them to casting with the right records.
How to get hired
- Experience with jewellery printers, CNC or CAM software, or a CAD background with an interest in production.
- Patience with machines and an eye for small defects before they reach casting.
- Willingness to work shifts where a factory runs printers round the clock.
CAD CAM operators often move up to CAM supervisor, running the printing room, or into CAD design itself. Experience with several printer types makes a candidate valuable to export houses across SEEPZ.
